Kamal to rejoin again in Gracy Mohan's team

Eriyum Thanal – what is Bala waiting for?
Eriyum Thanal’s first schedule has been completed and director Bala is getting ready to start the next schedule in Connoor. However, with the tiff between the FEFSI and Producers’ Council still going on, the director has decided
to postpone the shooting schedules until the issue is resolved.
Eriyum Thanal star Atharva and Vedhika as the lead pair. Uma Riyaz Khan plays an important role in this film. GV Prakash has scored the music. The film is inspired from a Malayalam novel which has the same title.

'I am happy I am not in Nanban team' Madhavan
Nanban is doing a big biz in box office and is considered as a super hit in Kollywood. The team approached Madhavan to be in the team, but for some undisclosed reason he refused to accept the offer.
Now, as the movie is doing a big biz, Madhavan was asked to comment on his feeling about not in the success team.
Madhavan said "For some reason I refused to act in the movie. By that time I never felt sorry and even now I don't feel sorry about the same. I am happy not in the team. I have done a good job with Arya in the movie Vettai"
Rajini attends Rahman's show
Superstar Rajinikanth, accompanied by younger daughter Soundarya Ashwin, hogged all attention at 'Classic Incantations', a musical concert performed in Chennai on Thursday night by a German orchestra, in association with A R Rahman.
As soon as the 'Thalaivar' made an entry, the audiences were unable to control their excitement. Whistles and claps filled the air and it took some time for the crowd to settle and enjoy the mellifluous music on that euphonical evening.
The German Orchestra gave a new touch to Rahman's songs and it was a delight for music lovers to listen to the performance. Songs from 'Enthiran', 'Bombay', 'Padayappa', 'Roja' and 'Lagaan' were performed.
The program was to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Germany. And also to celebrate the centenary year of Studio Babelsberg, a film studio located in Germany. After starting its tour in Mumbai, the orchestra then traveled to Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, before landing in Chennai.
'Marina' releases on February 3
National Award winning director Pandiraj's next, 'Marina', will see light of the day on February 3. A newspaper ad listing out the theatres has been released.
'Marina' stars Siva Karthikeyan and Oviya in the lead and will throw light on the lives of tots who make a living at the Marina beach and Pandiraj vouches that after watching the film, audiences' perception towards these kids will change.
'Vanakkam Vazhavaikkum Chennai...' a track from the film, features several tinsel town celebs including Vikram, Sneha, Vimal, Ameer, Sasikumar and Prakash Raj and is already a hit among movie goers.

Harris comes to Rahman's support
Harris Jayaraj has voiced in support of AR Rahman, over a controversy on the 'Hosanna....' song in Gautham Vasudev Menon's 'Ek Deewana Tha', the Hindi version of Tamil hit 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya'.
Recently, a Christian forum opposed the song and demanded apology from Rahman and others concerned, besides seeking to delete the number from the movie. It felt since 'Hosanna' being a holy word, it should not be used in a film song.
When asked about the issue, Harris Jayaraj, in his interview to a Tamil weekly, said, "We use such words only to get the blessings of the God and for nothing else. Even I had used words like Hosanna and Alleluia in my songs."
On a recent buzz that he would soon work with his good friend Gautham Vasudev Menon, Harris said, "He continues to be my friend. But there is no talk of us working together again. Even recently, he invited me to the birthday function of his son and I attended it. That's it."

Sasikumar to produce Balu Mahendra's next
Veteran cinematographer-director Balu Mahendra is getting ready to wield the megaphone after a long break. Producing the film will be Sasikumar, who, like most of the modern day directors, is inspired by the 'Moondram Pirai' man.
Two important things about this yet-to-be-titled movie is that it would be made inside a house, which is being specially designed for the purpose on a suburb in Chennai. And the budget is just Rs 90 lakh, contrary to the multi-crore trend.
"Balu Mahendra always believed that script and characters are important for the success of a movie, than its budget. So he is making this film to prove this point. Sasikumar is happy to back the venture financially," sources say.
Speaking at a recent function, Balu Mahendra expressed shock that crores and crores of rupees are required these days to make a movie. "I understand that cost of making a film is high today. But still, I can tell you that a quality and watchable movie could be made in lakhs. And I am ready to prove it," he said. It looks like he is all set to do that now.
Kamal plans Viswaroopam’s climax
Kamal Haasan has just returned from the US after successfully canning some important scenes for Viswaroopam. Apart from playing the lead role in the film, Kamal also doubles up as the director. He is now planning to shoot the climax of Viswaroopam.
Sources close to the team say that Kamal wants to shoot the climax of Viswaroopam in Delhi and all arrangements for this is being made.
Viswaroopam stars Pooja Kumar, Isha Sharvani and Andrea in the lead roles. The film has been shot extensively in US, UK, Jordan and several parts of India.
Official sources say that the budget of this film is expected to cross over 100 crores!
